Habitat for Humanity – DeKalb’s staff members work in the office and field to provide support for DeKalb County families, volunteers, board members, and donors. They handle the day-to-day operations of the organization to ensure the affiliate is run at a level of excellence. Habitat for Humanity – DeKalb is a Nonprofit organization. Combined, our HFHD’s staff has several decades of experience in the nonprofit sector that brings a wealth of knowledge regarding the numerous facets of operating a successful organization, including resource development, volunteer management, and community outreach. Skills such as these allow HFHD to thrive and grow.
The ability to grow an organization’s funds and resources are an important part of the skill set of any non-profit professional. Members of Habitat for Humanity – DeKalb’s staff raise money through building relationships with donors, seeking out sponsorships, and applying for grants.
Volunteers are the backbone of Habitat for Humanity – DeKalb’s workforce, and the key to the work we do. Members of our staff work closely with volunteers to coordinate their time and effort and to provide support in able to enable our volunteers to accomplish even greater things.
Habitat for Humanity – DeKalb is here to serve DeKalb County. Members of our staff pride themselves on reaching out to individuals and other organizations in our community in order to partner towards providing safe, decent, and affordable housing. By working with members of the community to organize events and build relationships, HFHD better enables itself to enrich DeKalb County.
Though volunteers provide most of our manpower, staff members provide guidance, support, and oversight, as well as work with volunteer construction leaders to ensure that the houses we make available for our family partners are quality homes.
Our family partners are the reason we build, but construction of a home is only the first step. Our office is here to provide support for our family partners in their transition to homeownership and beyond, and members of Habitat for Humanity – DeKalb’s staff work closely with family partners from the time they apply all the way to when they pay off their mortgage.
Bob Boyd began serving as Executive Director in 2012. He has over 30 years of experience working with non-profit organizations, and specializes in board development, program outreach, and organizational growth. He also manages our Veterans Initiative. Email Bob Boyd
