Habitat for Humanity – DeKalb’s goal is to provide safe, decent, affordable housing for the residents of our community. Our home building construction projects take place all over DeKalb County, and range from the restoration of foreclosed homes to the construction of brand new houses.
Construction typically occurs on Saturdays. Our build days are led by experienced builders who serve as House Leaders. These House Leaders guide the construction work completed by volunteers who work together in order to provide a quality home for a deserving family.
The type of work volunteers do varies greatly in scope, but can include siding, flooring, painting, and landscaping. Depending on the size of the project, construction can last anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. When everything is complete the home will be dedicated to a family partners so that they can begin a new chapter of their life.
