We're excited that you want to volunteer with us!

Provide safe, decent, affordable housing for the residents of our community.

DeKalb Habitat homes are built primarily with volunteer labor and take place all over DeKalb County. Habitat build days, typically on Saturdays, are an opportunity to see our mission come to life as we put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, community and hope.

Habitat builds offer abundant volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups on weekends and weekdays that range from the restoration of foreclosed homes to the construction of brand new houses. We welcome people from all walks of life to join us. Volunteers are involved in most phases of construction, even though many have no prior construction experience or building skills.

What Goes Behind a Habitat Build?

Our projects are led by experienced builders known as Gray Ghosts. These Gray Ghosts guide the construction work completed by volunteers who work together to provide  quality services for families and homeowners.

The type of work volunteers do varies greatly in scope but can include siding, flooring, painting, and landscaping. Depending on the size of the project, construction can last anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.

Finally, you’ll be taken to a page with several links. In the right column are our required trainings.

Having trouble using the access code or with a specific course?
