At Habitat DeKalb, we believe everyone deserves a safe, healthy place to call home. As a nonprofit organization, we focus on providing critical home repairs for seniors and veterans right here in DeKalb County, GA—helping protect their health, safety, and dignity.

Our work is rooted in our mission: to put God’s love into action by serving those whom He served. With a small staff, a dedicated Executive Director, a volunteer Board of Directors, and the support of countless volunteers, we’re building more than homes—we’re building hope.

Announcements

Vendor Registration Now Open for BBB 2026

We’re gearing up for our 2026 Blue Jeans & Blueprints Festival, and we’re looking for vendors ready to showcase their products, services, and brand to the DeKalb community. This high-energy, family-friendly event draws strong local attendance and is a great opportunity to connect with new customers while supporting affordable housing in our area.

If you’re interested in becoming a vendor, we want to hear from you. Email us today to request vendor details and secure your spot. Spaces are limited and fill quickly.

We need your help to improve housing in DeKalb County!

DeKalb County is hosting Community Conversations as part if it’s effort to understand the housing crisis in DeKalb. We highly encourage you to attend these town halls to share your thoughts, observations, or ideas to improve housing in our county.

Community Conversations will happen the follow dates:

    • March 4, 2026, 5:00 - 7:00 PM @ Stonecrest Library

    • March 9, 2026, 6:00 - 8:00 PM @ South DeKalb Senior Center

    • March 10, 2026, 6:00 - 8:00 PM @ Mason Mill Recreation Center

    • March 18, 2026, 6:00 - 8:00 PM @ Tobie Grant Recreational Center

    • March 19, 2026, 6:00 - 8:00 PM @ North DeKalb Senior Center

Apply for Homestead Exemptions by April 1, 2026

Big Max’s House Restored: A Haven for Family, Friends, and Laughter

Herbert, known as “Big Max,” is a beloved family man who recently faced a challenge when a leak damaged a crucial floor joist in his home. With the help of dedicated State Farm volunteers through Habitat DeKalb, his home was restored with essential repairs, including fixing the joist, reinforcing handrails, and installing grab bars for added safety and comfort as he and his wife approach their 80s. Herbert expressed deep gratitude for the kindness and support he received, noting how the volunteers made him feel valued. Thanks to their efforts, Big Max’s home is now a safe haven, ready for joyful gatherings with family and friends.
