What is Giving Tuesday?

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

It’s a simple idea: whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to contribute toward building the better world we all want to live in.

Our goal is to raise money to support our Aging in Place Program which is designed to address the issues preventing older adults from aging safely in their homes. We do things like install grab bars in bathrooms, install walk-in showers, build wheelchair accessible ramps, widen doorways, replace low and broken toilets, repair plumbing, electrical, and heating/cooling systems, fix structural issues, roofing, and much more.

Although we’ve served many, we still have over 500 homeowners on our waitlist who need our help. But we can’t do it without you!

How can you make an impact?

Last year, supporters like you helped fund 23 critical home repairs for older adults and veterans!

This year, we invite you to team up with us by creating a fundraiser with the template we’ve provided and sharing it with friends, family, and colleagues.

Here’s how:

  1. Visit our GA Gives fundraising page
  2. Click “Join this event”
  3. Choose an option to log in or sign up
  4. Select “Create a new campaign” and then click “Build your fundraiser”
  5. Click “Publish” from the side menu on the screen
  6. Finally, share your fundraising link with others and on social media

You can also give a small gift of $5, $10, or $20! When you make a donation, you’ll be helping the 500+ older adults afford the critical repairs they need to make their homes a safer place to live.
